Services

I find flow in deep task immersion and balance in caring for my own wellbeing.

To achieve these states and ensure clients the best possible outcome, I choose to work on one project at a time, and perform services in an ethical manner, valuing quality over speed.

While I do charge at an hourly rate, these standards are taken into consideration at all times and clients are charged appropriately. In other words, you will only be charged for the focused time spent on your project, not the time I may spend fluffing around to find ways to deliver a better result or that spent working out solutions I don’t already know.

Quick turnarounds are not my thing. Honesty, integrity, and quality are.

Author Services

As a creative, you need to be able to get into the zone and express in the way that works for you. Trying to then transform it into something readable and accessible to an editor or self-publishing organisation can feel frustrating and cause that creative spark to fizzle out.

My years of experience with Word, as a writer myself, and more recently, within the self-publishing industry can ease some of this burden so you can concentrate on producing brilliant stuff!

Word processing

  • Transcribing legible handwritten or scanned manuscripts for those who don’t know how to use Microsoft Word or find it challenging

Formatting

  • Improving layout and flow of content
  • Correct insertion of footnotes and endnotes
  • Taming misbehaving content

Identification and styling of hierarchy

  • Structuring content to show its level of importance
  • Reduce the work required to transition into typesetting software
  • Proofreading – we see our words as we intend them, not always as they are
    • The final polish after professional editing

What are your qualifications?

I have a Cert IV in Business Administration, spent many years utilising Microsoft Word to create resources for support work within a primary school, and have over seven years’ experience formatting and proofreading technical proposals and reports for an engineering consultancy. Creative writing has been a lifelong hobby, and I have recently been providing document and administrative services within an assisted self-publishing environment.

At what point do you start charging the client?

I provide a free consultation to ascertain your needs and can then provide you with an estimate of time and cost. I will inform you and seek written approval if any variation is required. If the brief changes from your end, costs could be incurred. Clear and decisive communication will be good for both of us.

What happens if mistakes are made?

I will certainly rectify any errors I make at no charge. Being human, there is no guarantee of perfection, but I always strive to do my best. If the brief changes, or has been communicated poorly from your end, costs could be incurred.
